Lithium Batteries – best thing since sliced bread
It is now about three years since we installed our LiFePO4 batteries, and we couldn’t be happier.
Lithiums charge so much faster than lead that we don’t waste any of the solar and wind power that we are producing. This has resulted in us now being fully self-sufficient for power, whereas when we first bought Life Part 2 we were having to run our engines every few days to keep the batteries charged.
Plus they take up less physical room, and weight a fraction of the amount. What is not to love?
But Lithiums do need some different handling, and the advice out there seems to be very confusing, so after much research, and our own experience, I have put together a free ebook on How to Install and Maintain You Lithium House Batteries. It is provided to you with no warranties of any kind. I hope you find it useful. Since this is a rapidly developing field, some of this might even be out of date now. Nevertheless, it is what we have installed on our boat, and it seems to be working great.
